SCI-PAC

SCI-PAC is the largest Sportsmen-led Political Action Committee in America. This is larger than the PACs of numerous corporate giants such as American Express, General Motors and Delta Airlines. This accomplishment and strength is due to the SCI members who have made a commitment to being first for hunters.

SCI-PAC Fundraising Records Poised to be Crushed

Due to the dedication of SCI members to preserving our hunting heritage through the election of pro-hunting candidates SCI-PAC has positioned itself to once again break records for fundraising in the coming election. By the end of 42ndAnnual SCI Convention it is projected that SCI-PAC will have raised nearly 3/4 of a million dollars for the 2014 election cycle. SCI-PAC will then be positioned to break previous fundraising records and eclipse the 1 Million Dollar mark for the 2014 election.

Candidate Support

SCI-PAC continues to support candidates for the 2014 election cycle. So far in 2013 SCI-PAC has donated approximately $100,000 dollars to a bipartisan group of incumbent Senators and Congressmen who have been supporters of SCI and our hunting heritage. These donations will increase as the 2014 cycle continues, and we expect 2014 to be the biggest cycle ever for SCI-PAC direct donations.

2012 Election

In the 2012 Election Cycle SCI-PAC raised $879,806 dollars from SCI members. This is an increase of 11% increase over our 2010 cycle. Combined with the $235,000 cash on hand at the end of the cycle this puts SCI-PAC over one million dollars for the first time ever. All of these donations went directly to candidate contributions and independent expenditures which totaled 908,336. This is a 21% increase over the 2010 cycle. These expenditures were also very successful as SCI-PAC was involved in 136 House and Senate races. SCI-PAC direct donations resulted in victories in 88% of the races we were involved in, while SCI-PAC's independent expenditures resulted in victory in 75% of the time.

Also, for the first time on election night, the SCI DC office operated a "war room" wherein:

  • We covered over 40 races using new media strategies to declare victories for SCI-PAC.
  • We reached 12,000 unique Facebook followers.
  • Of all the Facebook posts in the past 4 months our election night posts are the top 5 posts for number of people reached in the past 4 months.
  • Over 400 Facebook followers "engaged" the postings (they clicked something, commented, or shared with them).
  • The frequency at which people began following us on Facebook was the highest it's been all year.
