Chapter Resources

Safari Club International is First for Hunters around the world; the leader in protecting the freedom to hunt and promoting conservation worldwide. SCI has over 50,000 active members and advocates on behalf of 16 million American hunters and shooters. SCI effectively represents hunters' interests in state and federal legislative bodies, the courts, and international diplomatic forums.

Chapters are active in their local communities, hosting banquets and organizing humanitarian, education, and conservation projects that benefit their communities. Some of the resources for chapters are available on this reference page for easy access, but there are several more resources behind the Member Portal, including how to submit your annual report, so don't forget to log in, too!

Photo Guidelines

When shooting photographs of an event (education, conservation, humanitarian), always strive to capture the best photos as possible. Good quality photos – resolution, subject, etc. – not only look more professional, they make a stronger statement about the event and SCI as an organization. They look better on websites, too. Please consider the following when taking photos at your next Chapter event:

    • Digital photos should be taken with a 4 megapixel (or higher) camera at the highest setting the camera will allow. They need to be 300 dpi and correspond to a physical size of at least 3"x5".  You can check this in any photo editing software.
    • Try to avoid shooting outdoor photographs toward the sun.
    • Use the maximum resolution your camera allows.
    • Even the best mobile phones don't currently offer the capabilities found in dedicated cameras.
    • Please turn off date/time imprinting.
    • Use a tripod when possible, especially indoors with flash off.
    • Keep your surroundings in mind – a picture with a large SCI banner in the background is going to give a stronger message.
